It was one of those weekends where the only plan was to have no plans. Living in West Michigan, the idea of a spontaneous road trip to Toronto started as a passing whim, but before we knew it, we were packing our bags and hitting the road. A mere 5 ½ hours later, we found ourselves in the midst of the vibrant metropolis, greeted by the awe-inspiring skyline dominated by the iconic CN Tower.
Our travel to Toronto demanded an experience as dazzling as the daylight that still bathed the city when we arrived. Dinner at the famed 360 Restaurant, located within the CN Tower. We were fortunate to secure a reservation for the fashionably early hour of 4:30 pm, we eagerly ascended, anticipation mounting with each floor.
As the elevator doors opened, revealing a breathtaking panorama of the city bathed in daylight, we knew we were in for a spectacular treat. The restaurant's unique feature—a slow, graceful rotation exposing us to a 360-degree view of Toronto—transformed our simple dinner into a culinary journey through the sunlit city.
As we relished every bite, the changing scenery became the backdrop to a dinner that transcended mere sustenance. A culinary masterpiece that perfectly complemented the splendor of Toronto.
Island Hopping
As we left the mainland behind, the ferry ride to the Toronto Islands was a journey into tranquility. Seated outdoors, surrounded by the island's natural beauty, it was a dining experience that seamlessly blended with the laid-back atmosphere of the Toronto Islands.
As the ferry carried us back to the mainland, the Toronto skyline reappeared on the horizon. The juxtaposition of the serene islands against the city's hustle and bustle encapsulated the essence of our Toronto getaway—a perfect blend of urban excitement and natural retreat. The Toronto Islands had given us a day of unplanned bliss, leaving an indelible mark on our weekend adventure.
Back on the mainland, we fully embraced our tourist alter egos, transforming the vibrant streets of Toronto into our playground. Meandering through the heart of the city, we became urban explorers, captivated by the sights, sounds, and aromas that defined the Toronto experience.
Our impromptu visit to Steam Whistle Biergarten became a highlight, as we indulged in some local refreshments, savoring the distinct flavors of Toronto's craft beer scene. The lively streets led us to the doorstep of Harbourfront Centre, an entertainment hub pulsating with energy.

Here, we stumbled upon THE SLIP, a hidden gem with an all-patio seating arrangement. Our luck continued as we secured fantastic seats for a concert at the adjacent venue, making the evening a harmonious blend of great drinks, entertainment, and the infectious spirit of Toronto.
